Ground filling

Ground filling is the construction work of leveling the ground for a construction work or planning site. From a land of natural topography with heterogeneous elevation, ground filling is the excavation of soil in high places and transport to low places for reclamation. The result is a flat land surface for residential, special economic or industrial projects.

Types of ground filling

There are two types of ground filling:

  • Leveling according to the controlled conditions in front of the post-leveling elevation. Thus, the operator will not need to pay much attention to the excess or lack of land.

  • Leveling as required on the volume of land after leveling. This includes the following cases of balancing the amount of excavation with the amount of embankment and leveling provided that the investor intends to leave the amount of soil behind the floor, or intends to add an additional amount of soil before leveling, ..

Ground filling process at IBCO

  • Design of leveling ground: In this step, the construction worker and the investor must discuss with each other in detail. The topographic drawing of the site will help the builder calculate the exact amount of construction land and adjust in detail the elevation of locations on natural soil.

  • Field simulation:

  • For a simple plan, it is only necessary to use a single section & perpendicular to all contour lines to represent the altitude of all natural ground points. This method is also known as the sectional mass determination.

  • For complex ground, the construction house needs to divide the land to be leveled into different areas, along the direction of the contour line. This method is complicated and requires an experienced practitioner, but it guarantees high accuracy.

Ground filling for large area special economic zone projects

Determine the design ground after filling:

  • Leveling according to balance of excavation and embankment work: This form does not use off-site soil mass.

  • Leveling by the method of grid grid or triangular grid

  • Leveling with condition that leaves excess land behind leveling

- Volume of work: When calculating the work volume by grid, it can be based on 3 calculation methods

  • Type of plots with working height at positive meshes hctj> 0, this type of plot is completely located in the excavation area, so it is relatively easy to implement.

  • The type of cell has all working heights at the negative mesh hctj <0, the type of cell located completely in the embankment area, so when calculating you need to pay great attention.

  • Type of cell contains both meshes with both negative and positive working elevation, both meshes with hctj> 0 and meshes with hctj <0. This type of plot overlaps the OO embankment boundary (embankment cut-through boundary these boxes).
